Reloading an Updated Template

When a template is loaded into the experience profile Website Manager completes the following actions:

  1. Updates the title from a listed page name to add the sys_title placeholder <title>{sys_title}</title>
  2. Adds a base reference placeholder pointing to the content folder <base href="{sys_content_url}/" />
  3. Updates the links to stylesheets adding a reference placeholder pointing to the experience folder <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{sys_experience_url}/styles.css">
  4. Populates the database placeholder list with the placeholders used in the template

Templates can be updated at any time and then reloaded into Website Manager. The designer updates the template, using an html editor, and passes the completed template file to the Website Manager administrator for reloading into Website Manager. When the template is reloaded Website Manager searches for any changes, and updates the file with the placeholder references.

To Reload a Template:

  1. Open the Experience screen.
  2. Choose the experience you want to update and choose the Templates sub tab.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the template name. You can choose more than one template.
  4. Choose Reload Templates.
