Creating a Language

Language profiles are used by Author-it Website Manager to identify which content is delivered in an end user experience, especially when localized versions of a website are available. The website experience must have at least one language profile defined in Author-it Website Manager before content can be added. When more than one language profile is created one of the languages is set as the default.

Note:The default language is displayed when Author-it Website Manager does not have a language profile that matches the information from the viewer's browser, or the viewer's privacy settings do not allow this information to be relayed.

The language profile creates an association (or link) to the language folder and content stored on the webserver. The association is used by Author-it Website Manager to deliver the correct content when the webpages are assembled

To Create a Language Profile:

  1. Open the Content screen
  2. Choose New Language
  3. Select the language from the locale drop down list
  4. Save your changes

    Create a new language

  5. Repeat these steps to add additional languages
