Changing Folder Security

If have Change Permissions security access to a Library Folder, or if you are the person who created the folder, you can change the folder's security permissions. Otherwise, you'll need to ask your administrator to change the permissions using the Author-it Administrator.

To Change Folder Security:

  1. Select the folder whose security permissions you want to change.
  2. Right-click on the folder, and choose Properties. The Folder Properties window is opened.
  3. Switch to the Permissions tab.
  4. Select the User or Group you want to work with. Their Folder Action permissions are selected. For users, any permissions shown in blue are inherited from the group the user belongs to - so you'll have to either change the group's permissions, or remove the user from that group.
  5. Change the User or Group's permissions:
    • To add permissions, make sure the checkbox is selected.
    • To remove permissions, make sure the checkbox is blank.

Note: When you add or remove permissions, others may automatically be added or removed at the same time.

  6. Choose Apply or OK to save your changes.
