Placeholder Types
During the process of creating a webpage Website Manager substitutes placeholders in the template with the content or functionality defined in the placeholder substitution rules. Placeholders are created using one of the following options chosen from the Type field:
- HTML File - used to include additional content (either text or graphics) by calling a.htm page stored in the Content folder. Website Manager extracts the content between the body tags in the nominated page and substitutes it with the placeholder.
- AWM Function - the function placeholder is most commonly used to build the webpages.
- Text - used to substitute small amounts of text when the placeholder is found. This can be used for page titles, slogans or adding small sections of information to header or footer fields.
- Remote URL - the URL placeholder is used to display content from an external website in your webpage, but wrapped in your experience's look and feel.
- HTML Content - used to add additional content to a page by entering the HTML code (text and HTML tags).
- User Registration - used to add user registration forms and functionality to a website.
