Editing the Sitemap

The sitemap represents the website's menu structure, and is based on the Book content structure and the variables assigned to topics in Author-it. When the book is published to Website Manager the AWM XML is created containing the information needed to create the structure used by the menu.

This file is moved to the Website Manager content folder along with the topic and image files from the book. As part of the process of adding pages to Website Manager, the XML file is used to build the sitemap and menu structure. The sitemap hierarchy can be manually edited by dragging and dropping topics to change the location of pages in the structure.

Topics displaying a checkmark are included in the menu. Topics included in the sitemap can be added or removed from the menu by adding and clearing the checkmarks.
