Managing Updates to a Website

Websites are updated on a regular basis. New content is added, and pages that are no longer needed are removed. The content published from Author-it includes the Website Manager XML file. The file provides information on variable assignments for each of the topics, and changes to the sitemap.

Important: Before adding an update ensure you have created a rollback point so you can revert the live content if needed.

To make an update, publish the content in Author-it to Website Manager. If you use the publishing profile's Website Manager action the content is automatically updated. If you don't use the action you'll need to add the pages manually.
