Using Drag and Drop to Set a Relationship
Author-it tries to make the setting of relationships between objects as simple as possible. There are many relationships in Author-it that you can set by dragging and dropping. For example, you can drag objects from the Library Explorer into the contents of a Book, or from the contents of a Book into a Hypertext Link object. You can also use drag and drop to embed topics, and to create Hypertext Links.
To Set Relationships Using Drag and Drop:
- Open the object you are setting a relationship from, and ensure the relationship property is visible - its usually a panel that you drop other objects into, for example, the Book Contents pane.
- In the Library Explorer or Book Contents, select the object you want to establish the relationship with.
- Drag and drop that object into the relationship property of the object that you want to establish the relationship from. The related object's details are shown.
In the following image a topic is dropped into a book's content pane, and a relationship is created from the book to the topic.
