File Locations Options

File Location options let you to set the default folder locations for various types of files in Author-it. You should check with your systems administrator to before changing the paths.

Libraries

Location of the default file directory containing your Library, or Libraries. This is used as a default location for opening and creating Libraries. If this field is blank, or it does not point to a valid directory, Author-it uses the current directory instead.

Templates

Location of the default file directory containing the Publishing Templates used when you publish your document outputs. If the folder is not found during publishing, an error is added to the publishing log. The Libraries sub-folder contains Library templates used when you create a new Library. If this field is blank or it does not point to a valid directory, Author-it uses the current directory instead.

Dictionaries

Location of the default file directory containing the language dictionaries used by the Author-it spell checker. If this field is blank or it does not point to a valid directory, Author-it uses the current directory instead.

Pictures

Location of the default file directory that Author-it first opens when you use the Insert Picture button to insert an embedded graphic. If this field is blank or it does not point to a valid directory, Author-it uses the current directory instead.

Logs

Location of the file directory Author-it writes its Log files to. If this field is blank or it does not point to a valid directory, Author-it creates and uses a Logs folder in the main Author-it directory instead.
