Delivering the Right Information to the Right People

The volume of written content within the world's enterprises continues to explode. As the volume of content increases, so too do issues associated with searching for and finding relevant information. Today it is not just a matter of getting information to people. It is about getting the right information, to the right people, at the right time.

To solve this problem, ASC developed Author-it Aspect, a web-based application that works in conjunction with Author-it Enterprise Authoring Platform. The Author-it Dynamic Assistance Platform is about knowing who the user is and personalizing the content to their perspective, in real time. The profile might be from their network log-in, such as Active Directory or LDAP and include role, location and access privileges; it might be from information passed to Author-it Aspect from the user's computer, such as platform, application version, or preferred language; and it might include information the user provides themselves.

When the content is completed it is published to the Author-it Aspect Server. Author-it Aspect dynamically renders the content and displays the appropriate variants specifically for each user based on their profile settings. In this way Author-it Aspect displays only the most relevant information for the particular user based on their specific needs.

Use cases for Author-it Aspect include; Dynamic User Assistance and Knowledge Bases where customer support content can be incrementally updated and customized for the customer based on a number of criteria such as; their company, the products they use, their operating system and so on.
