Active Directory

Active Directory is used to provide central authentication and authorization services.

When the library is set up the administrator creates the Author-it user groups. Once the groups have been created they are mapped to the active directory security groups. Security access for the Author-it user is based on the security access that has been given to the active directory group they are mapped to. Users belonging to active directory security groups can log in to Author-it using trusted connections.
